Leicestershire Police suspended assistant chief constable, Gordon Fraser, found on railway track after 'suicide'

Gordon Fraser was due to appear at St Albans Court on Monday charged with his wife 


He was due to appear at court in St Albans with his wife Teresa, also a serving officer, charged with perverting the course of justice over a speeding incident in Scotland.

That incident was was being investigated by Hertfordshire Constabulary.


Mr Fraser had been suspended from duty since December 2010, pending a separate investigation being carried out by Merseyside Police.
Merseyside Police confirmed earlier this year they were investigating Mr Fraser following allegations of misconduct and fraud.
A spokesman at Merseyside Police said in July: "Merseyside Police can confirm that Chief Constable Jon Murphy is conducting an investigation into a Leicestershire Constabulary officer, two officers from West Midlands Police and a member of the public following allegations of gross misconduct and fraud.


The body of senior Leicestershire Police officer Gordon Fraser, was discovered afer reports of a man being struck by a train in Aston Magna, Moreton-in-Marsh, Glos., just after midday on Friday.
Mr Fraser, 49, was pronounced dead at the scene after he is thought to have jumped in front of the 10.22am London Paddington to Hereford train. The Daily Telegraph Report click here
