Two people have been found guilty of manslaughter after an explosion at a Leicester kebab shop in August 2011.

They were both sentenced to eight years in prison.

The conviction relates to an explosion at Kams King of the Grill in Narborough Road on Monday August 29, 2011.

The body of Mr Fiaz Ahmed Ansari (40) was discovered in the building during the site clearance following the explosion which destroyed the building and damaged a number of neighbouring properties.
Detective Chief Inspector Mick Beattie, said: “This was a devastating incident, the death of Mr Ansari will not only affect his family but two other families will have to live with the consequences of the defendants’ actions.

“Mr Ansari had been working at the kebab shop as a chef since October 2010.  The business was suffering financial loss and the motive behind the incident was to claim on the insurance.
