Greatford Village Event to Commemorate Revd Dr Francis Willis, physician to King George III

Greatford Village Event to Commemorate Revd Dr Francis Willis, physician to King George III

Sunday, August 26th

Village History, Family Fun and Fundraising Event - A day of events in Greatford, 10 minutes drive from Stamford, to commemorate the tercentenary of the birth of Revd Dr Francis Willis, a rector and pioneering physician who treated many with mental illness, in ways which still resonate today. His most notable patient was King George III, who stayed at Dr Willis’s sanitarium at Greatford Hall and Shillingthorpe nearby.
