Oakham Town Council NW Ward Following the resignation of Dave Blanksby, the statutory Notice of Vacancy

Following the resignation of Dave Blanksby, the statutory Notice of Vacancy has been received.

This is now in the Council’s noticeboards and also on the website.

If at least ten electors from the Oakham North West Ward request an election in writing to the Returning Officer at Rutland County Council by the 22nd September then an election will be held.

The letter must be signed and include the full names and address of each person as shown on the
electoral register before the date shown.

If no such request is made then the Oakham Town Council will fill the seat by co-option.
This must not be permitted to happen as they always co-opt those they know and don't
want change or show any interest in the wider community of Oakham as a recent
co-option candidate found out.

I suggest anyone who is thinking of carrying out this small task should not post
the letter but hand deliver it to Rutland County Councils Office and Obtain
a Receipt of Delivery.

Anyone considering standing for election must be tough being prepared to
be bullied or by the majority or they could just relax and join in the general
childish antics at Oakham Town Council. Councillors are expect to ask
awkward question but not at Oakham Town Council.
