Today saw the launch of the first festival
Oakham Ales Inferno, this is the Marks & Spencer Chicken of the Beer World, I am not suggesting it tastes of Chicken! The company is based in Peterborough Cambridgeshire. I believe the Ale is still brewed in Peterborough.
I would like to make it very clear to CAMRA.
I do not dislike your organisation. My previous post clearly states my concerns were related to the venue allocated to you by Rutland County Council.
I hope your fee will help to recover some of the £16,000 loss the museum incurred last year. Something Rutland County Council tried to hide from the public.
Until this post I had not mentioned on my blog anything about complimentary tickets or gifts to Rutland County Councillors or its staff. I did publish any details relating to the offer admission for Rutland County Councils Communications Officer. This was confined to a email and one of the recipients has made the content public knowledge.
I have no problem with Camra offering free tickets, the problem I do have is when the council is losing so much tax payers money running this venue they appear to be happy to accept freebies even though a freedom of information request answer came back clearly stating all Councillor and Staff always pay for event held at the museum.
I hope the event goes well for CAMRA and not to many exhibits are trashed and there is no serious trouble like there was at Liddington.
The Local Police won't mind me reminding visitor its there Road Safety Week and I believe the total amount of Drink Drivers arrested so far has passed 50!
And my critics always ask why I call them drunks I think the figures speak for themselves.
I am hoping the police will catch a few high profile driver leaving Oakham to expose this serious problem we have here in Rutland.
I was pleased to read in today's Rutland Times one Rutland's Pubs has signed up to a new scheme to provide free drinks for the nominated driver. A scheme set up in memory of a very young man who was killed by a drunk driver on one of Rutland's Roads. Cllr Martin Brookes
