Countdown to 2027 Oakham Cricket Club Announces Under 18 Winter Nets
While the summer sun has set and the outdoor wickets are resting, preparations for the upcoming 2027 cricket season are already in full swing at Oakham Cricket Club.
The club has officially announced the launch of its Under 18 Winter Nets program, kicking off this February. Designed specifically for older junior players, these indoor sessions offer the perfect opportunity to sharpen skills, maintain match fitness, and build momentum well before the spring weather arrives.
The winter training program focuses on comprehensive player development in a structured, supportive environment. Highlights of the sessions include:
Technical Refinement: Targeted practice on batting stances, stroke play, bowling actions, and control.
Match Readiness: Building tactical awareness, match skills, and overall confidence on the pitch.
Team Bonding: Reconnecting with teammates and enjoying the social aspect of cricket throughout the off-season.
Pathway to Senior Cricket: Supporting the transition of young players as they progress from junior ranks into Oakham CC’s senior squads.
Key Training Details
All sessions will be held at Uppingham Sports Centre, providing top-quality indoor training facilities for the young squad.
