Cllr Charles Haworth, Deputy Mayor, Oakham Town Council, Tesco Incident

Today during a shopping trip to Tesco Oakham I met Councillor Charles Haworth our Deputy Mayor in-store.
He had been chatting to former Councillors Paul Beech and Peter Jones.

I greeted my colleague and he responded by shouting P#ss Off at me. I suggested to Mr Haworth this was not how our deputy Mayor should behave. His response to me was to shout F#ck Off.

He went on to say I was stalking him, its clear he has lost his mind and please Mr Haworth don't flatter yourself!

It did not surprise me to hear whilst at Oakham Police station Ex Councillor Paul Beech had lied to a PCSO and falsely accused me of stalking and following Mr Haworth around the store. Fortunately for me the police have acted quickly and are able to provide Tesco's CCTV to prove he is a liar.

If you were one of the horrified customers in the store at the time please contact Oakham Police Station.
(0116) 222 2222.
The police have released a press release with a hope of finding a witness.

Ex Councillor Peter Jones who was standing inches away has recently suffered a hearing impairment, he told me he heard nothing.

I find it extraordinary how this mob feel they are now untouchable and are willing to behave in public in such a disgraceful manner.

I was distressed and very felt very embarrassed and intimidated by Councillor Haworth, also embarrassed for the customers who had to here his vile abuse on a Sunday afternoon, no one should have to put up with this behaviour and especially not from someone who holds such a senior position in our community.

Cllr Haworth's poor use of language is I guess now something I will have to expect.

But for Mr Beech who is studying criminology at Leicester, you would think he would know its a criminal offence to lie in giving evidence to the police.
