Barley Lodge, Barleythorpe, Oakham, Rutland, LE15 7ED
Just before Christmas 2010 Rutland County Council purchased Barley Lodge Hotel from the owners of Barleythorpe Training and Conference Centre for undisclosed sum of public money.
Barley Lodge adjoins the conference centre. A modern chalet style single storey building set in 5 acres of gardens, immaculately maintained offering 22 en-suite bedrooms (max. capacity 42 people) and a spacious well-furnished bar lounge. Children welcome at weekends.
The rates were very affordable
Fri/Sat/Sun:
£49.95 Single en-suite, £76.00 twin en-suite
Midweek:
Single £52.58 twin £79.90.
Prices include B&B and VAT
It appears Rutland did have a very nice budget hotel before it was purchased and closed down by Rutland County Council
I am currently very concerned to hear Rutland County Council currently has no temporary housing for families who live in Rutland and have suffered from the credit crunch and lost their homes. These families are forcedout of Rutland and live in hostel accommodation in Leicester. This must be having a deverstating effect on the families and the children's eduction.
It is disgusting Rutland County Council should be forced to open this property for those families.
