I have repeatedly been told by various people the Oakham Branch of the Royal British Legion closed in 2009.
Our Mayor Councillor Joyce Lucas has published on the Council website her charity for this year is
The Royal British Legion Oakham Branch Welfare Fund.
On behalf of a member of the public, I have asked our Mayor Councillor Joyce Lucas, who is running the Oakham Branch of the Royal British Legion?.
She has refused to answer this request, why?
She has also refused to provide the registered charity number for the fund or the details of who runs the fund, why?
I now ask a very simple questions, why the lack of transparency?
I now have a further questions, how much money is held in this fund and who has benefited from the fund?
Simple questions you would think our Mayor would not find hard to answer?
If you wish to support the Royal British Legion there website will direct you to Leicestershire and Rutland Branch according to the site there is no Oakham Branch.
If you wish to support the valuable work of Royal British Legion please use the link below and donate via their own site.
