Cllr Chris Hopkin,
Oakham Town Council,
Ladywell,
Oakham,
Rutland,
LE15 6DD
07811 766117
Oakham North East Ward
Chris was co-opted onto the Council in July 2011. (The Mayor is likely to call a crisis meeting as Mr Hopkin does not like to wear a tie, I don't see a problem with this. There is far to much pretence at Oakham Town Council, Councillors need to role up their sleeves and just get on with the job at hand)
Mr Hopkin has lived in Oakham for three years and has, during this short time, become involved in the community through working for Out of the Rut
(an Oakham based Social enterprise supporting adults with learning difficulties in gaining skills for employment) and as a support worker for a local resident.
Mr Hopkin is interested in the development of Oakham through the planned increase in housing, business planning both in the town centre as well as on the outskirts and tourism. However, he is keen the towns heritage and individuality is retained.
Chris welcomes contact from residents, organisations and businesses.
