MP Alan Duncan Hails £710,000 Rutland Broadband Cash

Alan Hails £710,000 Rutland Broadband Cash

Alan Duncan has welcomed the Government’s announcement that Rutland will become a pilot for Government funding, available immediately.

Alan had supported the County’s bid with several letters to and meetings with Ed Vaizey, the Minister responsible. Alan and the Council had to persuade the Government that Rutland should not be excluded from funding altogether because of its small size.

Alan commented on the decision, ‘This is a coup for Rutland. The Council and I have fought hard for this investment which will turn Rutland from a broadband black spot into a broadband hot spot.
‘In a time of change for the County, this funding represents a shot in the arm for local businesses and communities and will underpin growth in the County. Rutland can face the future with confidence.’
