The Metropolitan Police has been criticised after they wrongfully arrested a school boy, claiming he was
'running around being stupid and gay'
Thousands of pounds in compensation has been paid to 15-year-old Jules Mattison, who was stopped by
officers as he was taking photographs of a public military parade during Armed Forces Day. When he complained, he was told he was a public hazard, and that photographing the servicemen constituted 'antisocial behaviour' (if it was Leicestershire Constabulary they would have used breach of the peace)
On demanding further explanation, he was told by an inspector that he was silly 'running around being stupid and gay'
