A MEETING OF OAKHAM TOWN COUNCIL
Parks & Planning Committee 28/03/12 AT 7.00PM
AT THE OFFICES OF OAKHAM TOWN COUNCIL,VICTORIA HALL, 39 HIGH STREET, OAKHAM
AGENDA
I would normally publish the agenda here.
The Mayor Cllr Joyce Lucas has a daft rule, I can not collect it until Monday because
she does not like me having it before the Councillors, This daft rule was introduced
when I was a Councillor. Even though the Agenda is ready and published and displayed
on council notice boards on Thursday's.
It is normally available online to download Thursday PM all though lately its changed to
Friday. This week it is not available.
Looking at the displayed agenda there is only one item relating to the Fitness Centre
The clerk said he felt the item did not need to be an exempt, but it now appears his mind has changed and Councillors will be be given the option to decide if they wish to
exclude the press and public while they discuss what to do with property once the
sub tenant is kicked out by the end of the month.
I feel Councillors will opt to exclude public and press at this point, why would they
want the public to know what they intend to do with their property? and it gives them
a sense of power to be able to kick people out.
After they have decided what to do the Clerk said they will inform the public of the outcome
of their discussion and they will move onto making comments about 17 planning applications.
2 of them are their own. It will be interesting to see how many councillors will declare
an interest in the councils own applications.
