the rent has been set at £400 a month, less than half of the market value quoted by a local surveyor in a report that cost more than one months rent.
The council has said The building would be completely refurbished with a view to it being ready to rent from September 2012.
the basic terms of the short term lease would be:
(i)
Three months from April 2nd 2012 to June 30th 2012.
(ii) The
rent would be £400 per month payable in advance.
(iii) That at
least four people from the Members’ Group sign the lease
6. the Clerk is instructed to obtain the necessary information required
for accurate tenders to be submitted for the refurbishment of the
building

That an extra meeting of the Council be called for Tuesday 3rd
April 2012 at
10.00 am to authorise the signing of the short
term lease

decision on the matter would be taken at the next meeting of the
Committee
That The council decided that from those unknown people, who approached the Clerk with an interest in renting the building, there would be no preferred parties with regard to a long term lease
and the building would be advertised for rent at the appropriate
time.
