The Chairman of Oakham In Bloom is Cllr Maureen Dodds who gave away money to charities of her choice
when she disposed of money given to the Carnival Committee which she chaired. The committee had a bust up so we dont have a carnival any more. A solicitor told the council they could not claim back the public money Cllr Dodds squandered as they had not complied with the rules of giving community grants. They had not stated clearly the purpose the money should be used for. The new application forms are an attempt by Oakham Town Council to comply with the rules of law.
