BIG CATS REALLY DO EXIST - RIGHT HERE IN RUTLAND!
Book your place to come and see some of the rarest cats alive on the planet. Six times a year we are allowing a limited number of members of the public to view our collection of rare cats, here at the Rutland Falconry and Owl Centre.
The Amur Leopard (Panthera pardus orientalis) has been classified as critically endangered with a population of approximately only 35 left in the wild. They are sparsely distributed across Russia, China and possibly, Korea and their population is still in decline threatened by increasing damage to their habitat by deforestation and excessive tree-logging.
We have four Amur leopards at the centre which have been rehomed from various locations around the United Kingdom. It is our aim to raise funds for the plight of the wild Amur leopard through holding these open days.
Ticket holders will be guided around the enclosures and can find out more about these majestic creatures.
