The entries on display this weekend at The Victoria Art Gallery will be judged this Saturday
and Prizes presented by Cllr Alf Dewis Oakham Town Councils Mayor.
You might notice what appears to be some
censorship, some silly person made all
the children write their phone numbers
on the front of their painting so the council
has stuck while labels over some of the numbers
At the recent event held in Cutts Close to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, a workshop was run at which children were asked to paint a portrait of the Queen.
An exhibition of these portraits will be on display in the Gallery at the Victoria Hall from Thursday June 28th to Saturday 30th June. The Gallery is open for most of the day but official viewing times will be from 3-5pm on Thursday and Friday and from 12.00pm - 2.00pm on Saturday 30th.
Prizes will be presented by the Mayor of Oakham, Cllr Alf Dewis, on Saturday 30th June when all the children who painted a portrait have been invited to attend.
