Oakham Town Councils Accounts Approval

Oakham Town Councils Accounts Approval

At this Wednesdays council meeting Councillors will be asked to approve the deferred accounts.

Looking at the revised work by the overpaid Clerk, it is my view and that of others much more qualified these accounts should be rejected.

The Clerk attaches a report rather amusingly he tells members the should note, the report is produced by the Council's software package.

I assume that takes the blame away from him, for the mess he presented the council at the last meeting.

Previously he failed to show the councils reserves, he says they are £42762.00

In this new set of accounts he says the reserves have been entered.

They are entered in payments as a estimate?

I don't believe the council has any reserves and my calculations suggest he tells members they have reserves
when actually he has a amount not included within the budget for this year and because the council has not received its second half of the annual precept he can't declare a reserve. Once the council is in receipt of the second payment it will then have a reserve.

Which it is promptly spending to support a private business, being the Gym...

Next year the council will have no reserve not a very good position to be in. Clearly a result of its spend spend policy.

If we are lucky the council may go bust, then they could make the clerk redundant.
