“There are close and well-established local ties between the wards
making up the existing constituency of Rutland and Melton. These wards
and, in particular, the settlements of Oakham and Uppingham have very
little connection to the town of Corby.” says MP Alan Duncan speaking of his relief that Corby will not become pert of his watch
Corby voters might think there is little connection between them and the Tory Candidate Christine Emmett
who runs her business in Uppingham which is a "settlement which has very little connection with Corby."
In my years living here in Oakham, I have met some people who escaped Corby.
The Tories like to knock Corby only last week self confessed Oakham Tory Deputy Mayor Adam Lowe
said chairing a meeting at Oakham Town Council, people in Corby "don't pay for their domestic electricity usage"
Cllr Lowe said he has always been a Tory since Mrs Thatcher let him buy his council house.
I reminded him that was some time ago and the debt to her party must be paid in full by now..
