Rutland County Council Payroll Unsound, involved employees in very serious issues of irregular activity Tory Leader Roger Begy Distributes Cllr Richardson Private Email

Rutland County Council Payroll Unsound, Tory Leader Roger Begy Distributes Cllr Richardson Private Email

Cllr Richardson writes to Tory Cllr Pocock,

Yet again at an Audit & Risk Meeting we are presented on the night with a slip of a
Report that there are serious problems with the payroll and it is deemed "unsound"
which is; "Major risks exist and fundamental improvements are required".

I wrote to the Council leader suggesting he convened a meeting of all Councillors to
brief them fully on the problem, he declined. However, Payroll is also under your
Portfolio and you should have taken it upon yourself to ensure all Members were
fully briefed on the problem and advised what actions were being taken. According
to the brief it involved employees in very serious issues of irregular activity

I wonder if they are referring to Social Worker Mrs White who runs a business offering
a similar service to that she is employed by the council to do?

When I was re-elected as a Councillor I immediately requested a full breakdown of
the payroll, as I had been provided in the past. I was refused this information,
despite it being my statutory right to receive such, or any member of the public for
that matte, that in itself should arouse suspicion.

Rutland County Council said they provided Councillor Richardson with a list of employees
and roles and omitted other information due to data protection rules.
