The Missing Barleythorpe Kitchen, Rutland County Council Roger Begy Distributes Cllr Richardson Private Email
Councillor Richardson wrote to Tory Councillor Pocock
Councillor Gale wrote to the Chief Executive deeply concerned as to where the fairly
new and expensive kitchen appliances had gone form the Old Barleythorpe Hall.
the Chief Executive stated they had not been stolen, yet has refused to say where
they are despite repeated requests for information. If the whereabouts of this
equipment is not known it has to be perceived as theft, theft which the Chief
Executive appears to be deliberately covering.
This again is under your Portfolio, It may have been before your time but it has
been raised under your term of Office. Would you have accepted a subordinate in
the Military stating they would not give you the information you requested
Recently I spoke to a former employee of Rutland County Council who when Barleythorpe closed
was transferred into the employment of The Rutland Care Village, her husband is a solicitor so I won't
mention her name she was one of the staff who successfully sued the Rutland Care Village for failing to honour employment terms that should have transferred from the council. she told me about the new Kitchen
and its super quality compared to that put in place at the new care village.
At last nights Councils meeting Tory Councillor Terry King said Cllr Richardson should not concern
himself with what is in effect scrap metal.
Has Mr King forgotten the high price of scrap metal and surely the council should take a more responsible
attitude towards its asserts.
He went onto say he was not responsible for the closure of the hall, I would say he is currently responsible
for its current neglect and it was his proposal to sell it off ASAP with no clauses attached effectively saying it can be demolished.
