Oakham Town Council who can not organise much, have once again decided the logistics
of an switching on of the Christmas lights would be to complicated, so the lights will appear
over the weekend 24/25 November.
This is how Stamford do it. the public meet at the Christmas three or four people plug in the lights of
Red Lion Square and then a man in a truck / van drive through the town plugging in the others
so by the time the event is finished around the tree all the lights are on.
I can never understand how that could be possibly to difficult for a small town like Oakham.
