Rutland Tories To Waste £8,000 on Independent Report on Rutland Anti-Corruption Party, Bevan Brittan Solicitors

Rutland Tories To Waste £8,000 on Independent Report on  Rutland Anti-Corruption Party, Bevan Brittan Solicitors

Lets hope this firm of Solicitors tell the Tory bullies to grow and and stop fighting and get on with the work that is expected from a county councillor.

Chief Executive Helen Briggs was asked on the 8th October to seek and independent report.

it is estimated of £8,000 will be spent on the  preparation of an
independent report into the actions of the Rutland Anti-Corruption Party.

Mrs Briggs reported to the Council "I have approached Bevan Brittan, a firm of Solicitors with a high national reputation in local government work and which has provided advice to the Council on other matters. Instructing a firm of Solicitors provides the reassurance of the rules of conduct which govern the profession; the Council would be the client and the firm would be bound by regulated client care and engagement requirements. They have scoped the task and given a ceiling cost of £8,000 to prepare and deliver a report.

There is no budget for this type of report and it is considered a high risk There is likely to be considerable public interest in the outcome of the independent report.

I wonder what the legal stance is on this, can a council really spend money on what is really a political
tool to be used to attack 3 elected members of the council?

The council can not remove those members, so what is the point of such an expensive report?

If it is legal? can the council not endorse a similar report into the appalling conduct of Tory Councillors
over the last three years. Bullying and intimidation, by the likes of Begy, King and Plews.

The man below is a close friend of some of those bullies.

Such a good friend his B&B is highly recommended to the councils temporary staff, although they soon move out into other local hotels, I can't imagine why?
