Rupal Rajani, BBC Leicester, Broadcast Live From Oakham Rutland Today, Photographs

Rupal Rajani, BBC Leicester, Broadcast Live From Oakham Rutland Today,

On a cold and very foggy afternoon, Rupal Rajani from BBC Leicester came to Oakham,

Rupal started her show interviewing Oakham Mayor Councillor Alf Dewis who is also the
Town Partnership Chairman and a lot more, then it was the turn of Councillor Joyce Lucas.

Before the interview, I spoke with Cllr Dewis and asked what hat he was wearing for the interview
he has so many other roles. I asked if he minded if  I photographed him in public being courteous.
Although I could just snap away. I did not ask Cllr Lucas, she is so rude to me lately I not going
to waste my energy speaking to her. Cllr Dewis said I could not photograph him. So I was prepared
not to take the photos and then Cllr Dewis said he had changed his mind. That can only be described
as a power trip for him, which failed  miserably for him. I found it rather funny when Cllr Lucas took her camera out and photographed him. I could not resist in telling her that Alf did not want to be photographed today!

I am pleased to say once the councillors departed, even though it was very cold every one
had a fab time in and around Gaol Street.

Those who did not listen or pop down missed a real treat Charlotte a 16 year old pupil from
Oakham School sang for the listeners live. her voice is very special. Oakham School will be
placing a link on their web site www.oakham.rutland.sch.uk  and the BBC Leicester website www.bbc.co.uk/radioleicester.will also have a recording of the
show. The singing of Silent Night was a very moving and a peaceful song to hear in Gaol Street
remembering the tragedy that happened there this summer.

O dear! that's me! I handed my other camera to one of the kind
production ladies and I can call it punishment for all those pictures
I have taken of others over the years.

Now Rutland County Council or Oakham Town Council this was
not a live interview. The BBC Solicitors are currently reviewing the
tapes for libel, slander and anything else... they should be
completed for broadcast by 2099 and to think Rupal only asked
me my opinion about our local councils....
