A spokesman for the council said: "Councillors voted to approve a number of key decisions and the council is currently taking a step back to reflect on them as well as carefully considering our next steps.
Councillor Richardson said: "We are in discussion with London libel lawyers, since we believe we are the ones who have been harassed and our name severely defamed by those who have taken these actions, making these most defamatory remarks about us in such a public domain."
