How will this help local artists?
It is my view and that of some local artists, Arts for Rutland only support its own snobs.
My preferred description would be hangers on, who enjoy a good piss up at the castle or any Army Barracks that will let them in?

Organisers of cultural events in the county are being urged to seek support from Arts for Rutland which can help with the cost of equipment.
The
charity has signed a partnership with funky-tents, based near Market
Harborough, which means it can offer tents, staging, lighting and sound
systems at discounted prices.
Chairman Peter Lawson said: “We want Rutland artists and performers to have the space they need without incurring excessive cost.”
Around 50 representatives of various arts organisations met at an open forum at Oakham Castle last week to share views on the 2013-14 agenda.
The charity also revealed plans for a large-scale event in the summer of 2014 to mark the centenary of the start of the First World War.
Planning is in the early stages but the event will take place at Kendrew Barracks, Cottesmore, where the 2nd Battalion The Royal Anglian Regiment are based.
The charity says an important objective of the project will be the enhancement of social cohesion between the forces and local communities. A new piece of choral music will be commissioned for the event.
Arts for Rutland also offers small grants for specific cultural projects and twice a year distributes 5,000 copes of the Arts for Rutland brochure twice a year.
Mo Gardner, founder of Rutland Open Studios, said she hoped all local artists would enter the Rutland Open Exhibition at the county museum, from March 2 to April 20.
Arts for Rutland also supports Oakham Festival and Uppingham Fringe.
Festival chairman Joy Everitt said they would be hosting the East Midlands Book Awards this year, a music event with The Grainstore pub in Oakham and world-renowned cellist Matthew Barley at Oakham Castle.
Joy said: “There will be our usual exciting eclectic mix of local and international artists.”
