Rutland County Council, Exchanged Contracts, Selling the former Parks School
Th deputy Conservative leader of Rutland County Councillor announced last night
the the council had exchanged contracts between themselves and a home builder
and the former Parks School sale will be completed soon.
Part of the purchase includes land belonging to Tresham College, a large part
of a green field on the Barleythorpe Road, despite this destruction of one of Oakham's
remaining open spaces Cllr King pointed out this was a good news story, Tresham was
selling less than expected. He made it very clear the council had not influenced Tresham,
He stated the council had simply entered into a joint partnership in which two pieces of land after
were sold. Councillors questioned the councils involvement in the sale of Tresham Land.
I can see why some of them might assume the council might have been more involved
with the sale of Tresham Land, after all the sale of council land hinges on the property
builder obtaining part of the Tresham College land.
