Last night Oakham Town Council considered its budget for 2014 -2015 concerns about adverse publicity and damage

Last night Oakham Town Council considered its budget for 2014 -2015

there was little or no comment from members at this third attempt to produce a budget.
The precept demand steadily increasing with each attempt.

Cllr Stubbs did said he would prefer not to see a council tax increase, due to the adverse publicity
and damage any increase would cause the council. Cllr Adam Lowe agreed

I think Stubs needs to open his eyes and ears the tin pot council has already done just that.

Cllr Dewis stood and rather stupidly said is there anything we have forgot?

It was pointed out no plans had been made for the WW1 100 years event next year unlike many Councils
up and down the land who announced last weekend they had made big plans and completed them.

Cllr Lowe said a committee has been hastily put together.

It was suggested that if the organisers needed public money there might be some available from the reduced grants pot next year, especially as the Oakham Festival was not going to occur next year.
