A gay man in Cameroon who was jailed for sending a text message to another man saying ‘I’m very much in love with you’ has died. His family said he was a curse and wanted him to die.

A gay man in Cameroon who was jailed for sending a text message to another man saying ‘I’m very much in love with you’ has died. His family said he was a curse and wanted him to die. Prior to his death he reportedly received no medical treatment.

RIP. We remember you Roger. Thank you for challenging the homophobic persecution of the Cameroon (in)justice system. You will not be forgotten.
