The Sport Relief Mile, coordinated by the Active Rutland Team at Rutland County Council & Anglian Water, is back once again and entries are now OPEN!
The Sport Relief Mile will be setting off from Normanton Church at Rutland Water from 9.30am, with hundreds of locals getting on their marks, set and go for Sport Relief.
Super sprinters and willing walkers will all feel at home with a choice of one, three or six miles. Enter online at sportrelief.com, get sponsored and help transform the lives of people living here in the UK and in some of the world’s poorest countries, while being part of an incredible nationwide event.
Enjoy the picturesque scenery at Normanton Church and have fun! The Sport Relief Mile is open for everyone including all the family, couples, children, teenagers, friends, colleagues and even the dogs to come together to raise awareness and funds for Sport Relief!
You can choose to run, walk, skip, jog, hop or piggy back either the 1 mile, 3 mile or 6 mile route. You don’t need to be the best runner; just come with bags of enthusiasm and good footwear. You even have the chance to win a prize for the Best Fancy Dress.
This is the third time the Sport Relief Mile has been held in Rutland and there will be plenty of activities on the day.
The previous evening, Friday 21st March, the BBC will treat the nation to a super special night of Sport Relief TV, with presenters including Gary Lineker, Gaby Logan, Claudia Winkleman, Jack Whitehall, Clare Balding amongst others, hosting a star-studded show full of celebrity performances, comedy sketches, highlights from this year’s challenges and films about the incredible work Sport Relief supports.
