Coppers for Cancer
This charity was set up by Susan and Natalie Spires to raise money for The Teenage Cancer Trust in memory of Susan’s daughter Becky who died in April 2008 from a rare form of Cancer. Becky was treated at UCHL in the Teenage Cancer trust unit through the days in her illness and they made Becky’s time there as comfortable and as fun inspired as possible. They held craft/activity classes, have games rooms with pool, play stations, TV’s and even provide these young people with McDonald’s to eat! They are an amazing charity but currently only have treatment units in London and Manchester. They are currently fundraising so they can get units built to cover the Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire areas. We have so far raised over £10,000 for them and are continuing our efforts to raise as much money as possible!
