Larkfleet Homes, application for homes off Barleythorpe Road, was deferred, Rutland County Council, Video

Larkfleet Homes application for homes off Barleythorpe Road was deferred this evening.

Cllr Baines told members, a member of the public was recording and if anyone did not like it they should leave, looking in a certain direction. Recording was permitted at Rutland County Council long before the law changed so I don't know why there was an issue tonight.

It was very clear the Tory Chairman of Rutland County Councils planning committee Edward Baines does not support the development. Even suggesting he had been misled by the developer, because he
was sitting next to a legal person, he said he would chose another description.

There was some debate and concerns were raised about the lack of parking, lack of affordable homes and a significant loss of trees.

It was very clear many members of the committee were willing to reject the application.

The planning officer indicated that another application pending from Larkfleet, which in my view is terrible and surprisingly Oakham Town Council agree, will be withdrawn. That relates to the parade of flats and shops.

Cllr Baines said we were promised something and we are getting Peckham. I feel another Hawksmead, Larkfleet dispute developing.

Tory William Cross who is a bit of a plonker, who thinks he is funny used to make me laugh at him.
Now I am sure he is unfit to be a County Councillor, more suited to the role of an Oakham Town Councillor.

This evening Cllr Cross interrupted the debate to propose the council approve the application and just get on with it and lay in the bed they have made!

Cllr Cross is paid an allowance to be member of the planning licencing, development committee, I can only assume it's the cash that attracts him to the meetings, because he shows no interest in the applications.

He is not funny!

Consultation replies were received from Oakham Town Council, One line, Langham Parish Council
provided a much more detailed response.

Cllr Terry King raised concern about the lack of input from Barleythorpe residents.

After the application was deferred we were treated to a speech in which he described what he endured as nonsense.

Unfortunately due to technical problems with my second camera I don't have a recording of the end of that application.

The previous part of the meeting was recorded on my first camera which I used in the morning and yesterday and I forgot to recharge the battery!
