Larkfleet Homes, application for homes off Barleythorpe Road, was deferred, Rutland County Council, Video

Larkfleet Homes application for homes off Barleythorpe Road was deferred this evening.

Cllr Baines told members, a member of the public was recording and if anyone did not like it they should leave, looking in a certain direction. Recording was permitted at Rutland County Council long before the law changed so I don't know why there was an issue tonight.

It was very clear the Tory Chairman of Rutland County Councils planning committee Edward Baines does not support the development. Even suggesting he had been misled by the developer, because he
was sitting next to a legal person, he said he would chose another description.

There was some debate and concerns were raised about the lack of parking, lack of affordable homes and a significant loss of trees.

It was very clear many members of the committee were willing to reject the application.

The planning officer indicated that another application pending from Larkfleet, which in my view is terrible and surprisingly Oakham Town Council agree, will be withdrawn. That relates to the parade of flats and shops.

Cllr Baines said we were promised something and we are getting Peckham. I feel another Hawksmead, Larkfleet dispute developing.

Tory William Cross who is a bit of a plonker, who thinks he is funny used to make me laugh at him.
Now I am sure he is unfit to be a County Councillor, more suited to the role of an Oakham Town Councillor.

This evening Cllr Cross interrupted the debate to propose the council approve the application and just get on with it and lay in the bed they have made!

Cllr Cross is paid an allowance to be member of the planning licencing, development committee, I can only assume it's the cash that attracts him to the meetings, because he shows no interest in the applications.

He is not funny!

Consultation replies were received from Oakham Town Council, One line, Langham Parish Council
provided a much more detailed response.

Cllr Terry King raised concern about the lack of input from Barleythorpe residents.

After the application was deferred we were treated to a speech in which he described what he endured as nonsense.

Unfortunately due to technical problems with my second camera I don't have a recording of the end of that application.

The previous part of the meeting was recorded on my first camera which I used in the morning and yesterday and I forgot to recharge the battery!

Larkfleet Homes, Barleythorpe Road, Burley Park Way, Oakham, Rutland 9 new shops, A new Town?

Larkfleet Homes, Barleythorpe Road, Burley Park Way, Oakham, Rutland 9 new shops, A new Town?

Oakham North is looking more and more like a new town creation.

1000's of new homes, Supermarkets, Petrol Station, Large Family Pub, Hotel, A small community centre (Terry King diverted most of the 106 funding for a larger sports community centre to outside Oakham) are all on there way.

Next week Oakham Town Council will look at the plans for 9 new shops

7pm Victoria Hall.

2014/0546/RES Larkfleet Homes
Reserved Matters for the erection of 9 local centre retail units and 30 No. one
 and two bedroom apartments
Land between Barleythorpe and Burley Park Way

Whilst Oakham is expanding Rutland County Councils Tories appear to be doing little provide the extra services that will be required for these new residents, Doctors, Schools are two examples of essential services over subscribed here in Oakham.

Larkfleet Homes, Brooke Hill Academy, Woodland Trust, Parking Oakham Town Council

Larkfleet Homes, Brooke Hill Academy, Woodland Trust, Parking Oakham Town Council

I wonder how daft Oakham Town Council can get?

Tonight they considered two planning applications.

The first a proposal for Brooke Hill Acadmy to create a 30 space car park
on land leased from the Woodlands Trust.

After the Ward Councillor Alf  Dewis had told everyone this must go ahead because
a child might be killed Councillor approved the application.

The second application was from Larkfleet Homes. Oakham Town Council does not
like their developments and restated there are to many homes proposed on the site
between Barleythorpe Road and Burley Way.

They rejected the application because the two space encrouched into space marked
as proposed allotments. Thats a good reason to object? so how do they explain
30 car spaces encrouching into Woodland Trust Property, The circle of green surrounding
our town is getting smaller each year.

I wonder if Cllr Dewis will mind losing the view behind his house when that comes
up again for development again.
