Oakham Town Council Co-opt member for Oakham North West, Cllr David Blanksby

Cllr David Blanksby was this week co-opted onto Oakham Town Council
for the Oakham North West Ward.

In a email dated the 30th November 2014 in which Cllr David Blanksby expresses
and interest in any ward states he lives in the North West Oakham Ward. When at
parish level his home is situated in the Parish of Barleythorpe.

It is easy to be confused when at county level you are considered as  living
in Oakham North West (West of Railway Line, North of Braunston Road) and Barleythorpe

Oakham Town Council have published his address incorrectly, It should be Barleythorpe
and not Oakham. (The Clerk has corrected)

Cllr David Blanksby
7 Pelham Court
Barleythorpe
Rutland

Mr Blanksby is currently the vice chair of Oakham in Bloom

Although he says he is retired in his letter of interest sent last
year he is a company secretary for Werthers Design Ltd
appointed to that role on 27/10/2014

Mr Blanksby has been employed at SHEP DESIGNS LIMITED
since 10 January 2013 currently as a Secretary.

Mr Blanksby makes no mention of his connection to what
looks like a family of architectural designers based in
Barleythorpe Rutland and Tamworth.

I am guessing at around the age of 73 Mr Blanksby is one
of those people who takes on the role of company secretary
just not fully understanding the responsibility of sharing
the full legal responsibilities with the directors.

Dave Blanksby Co-option Letter Oakham Town Council

Dave Blanksby Co-option Letter Oakham Town Council

Last night Oakham Town Council Co-opted the Vice Chairman of Oakham
in Bloom onto the council.

There was a issue raised by Cllr Alan Walters regarding an applicants letter.

This morning I made a request to see the co-opted applicants letter.

I don't believe the town council has provided me with his letter of application.

I have been given a copy of a email he sent to the council on the 30th November 2014

Titled: My application to be co-opted into the Next Available Ward

This email is dated before the last co-option which Mt Blanksby was not considered
for.

This email is not a lawful application because of the date of receipt and it does
not specify the ward the applicant is applying for and is not signed.
