Rutland County Council Returning Officer Helen Briggs The Tory Control Freak.
Helen Briggs has decided to ban all non main stream media from the Election
Account correctly stating laws which apply to council don't apply to election
counts.
Helen Briggs is also imposing an unusual restriction of candidates agents and
counting agents. She is only granting them access for their own count and
then forcing them to leave after the declaration. The police constable is
set to have a busy afternoon - evening.
Most candidates and people who have worked throughout the lead up to
the election like to give each other a bit of moral support and Helen Briggs
just because she can is determined to ruin the day for all involved.
The whole situation here in Rutland supported by the local electoral commission
is very odd.
I am pleased to see a large number of candidates are circulating the following email
to ensure they are not kicked out.

She tell me its without prompting her it is not personal, my response is rubbish.
It would seem if all candidates decided to appoint themselves as counting agents
for each other on the day Helen Briggs and her team are going to be spending
a lot of the time checking names. before any count can go ahead.

We all have forms for the count to be in by next week. I think it would be a good idea if we all completed using each other's names (and #####) to make sure we can be there throughout if we want to be. I certainly do, and would hate being refused admission till my ward got counted, or thrown out after it was done!
