Canine Partners are highly trained dogs who look after people who are wheelchair bound, for example, people who have had strokes, MS, Parkinsons, lost limbs, etc. These dogs are trained as a partner to aid people in their everyday life, such as fetching the telephone when it rings, opening doors, loading the washing machine, opening drawers, and even helping them out of bed if their carers are late in arriving. They are especially trained for all kinds of unexpected emergencies , and are trained locally at Osgathorpe near Loughborough. We also have Canine Partners top professional speaker, Malcolm Wells, coming on the day with a Canine Partner dog, Zeberdee, and his wheelchair partner, Glynis who are going to give a hands on demonstration to show how wonderful these dogs are.
