Oakham Town Council Flags Torn and Tatty Photographs
On Wednesday at the Town Meeting Oakham Town
Council attempted to defend wasting thousands of
pounds putting up flags and bunting. They were
supported by a ex Mayor who said it set us apart
from other towns it certainly does.
Don't get me wrong the flags and bunting should
go up when their is an event.
These flags costing over £60 each have gone
up far to early, They should have been put up
in June for the freedom of entry and festival
One Councillor decided they should go up
when they did, interestingly no one challenged
her for breaking the rule that no individual
Councillor can make a decision on their own.
I and others are constantly stopped and asked
why the flags are its very annoying to some.
