Sunday, cooler and breezy with heavy rain clearing later
Oakham Town Council has spent £190 to go long with
two gazebos.
One will be filled with Cllr Lowes interesting historic display
about Oakham connections world war one.
The other will display something arranged by Cllr Lucas. Not
sure what.
I have asked for information I can hand out relating to
the three vacancies on Oakham Town Council and co-option
information.
That is all I know about the Town Council
participation because Cllr Joyce Lucas is still refusing to
communicate with me because of a complaint I made
over 4 years ago! which she claims "effects her mental health."
It looks as it could be a long day with Cllr Lucas BEM
because as of Wednesday no other Councillor had indicated they
were willing to assist with the stand stand. Hopefully there
will be a lot of public to chat with throughout the day.
It seems to me a lot of money has been given to the RAS for
little purpose.
I am told the Fire Service will not be present this year after
they were asked to pay £360.
Leicestershire Police will be present so they still appear
to have a surplus public fund to throw at the RAS.
Some local businesses say they can not afford the RAS charges.
These days the RAS seems to be all about money.
Only this week I was reading a grant application from a
sports group which said it had spent all its reserves since the
move to the new location due to high charges imposed by the
RAS.
