Detective Chief Supt David Sandall asks the public and media to deter from speculating about the child’s identity Leicestershire Police Charge Ajay Jetha




The 32-year-old man who was arrested last night (Friday, 16 October) in connection with an attack on a boy in the city on Tuesday afternoon has now been charged.

Ajay Jetha, who lives in the Keyham area of Leicester, has been charged with numerous offences under the Sexual Offences Act 2003. He will remain in police custody before appearing at Leicester Magistrates court on Monday.

Jetha was arrested shortly after 8pm on Friday night.

The charges relate to an incident which happened between 3.30pm and 4pm on Tuesday (14 October) on land near to a footbridge off Knighton Lane East.

The public have  been asked to help protect the identity of the child who was sexually assaulted in Leicester this week.
