Leicestershire police officer suspended over alleged historical sexual assault
A 24 year old police officer has been suspended from duty on suspicion of committing an historical sex assault on a minor.
He was arrested on September 25.
He has been granted bail on condition he does not enter Market Harborough or have unsupervised contact with children, or contact potential witnesses in the case.
The situation was confirmed by a Leicestershire Police spokeswoman who said: "A serving Leicestershire Police officer has been arrested following an allegation of non-recent sexual assault.
"The officer has been released on police bail and has been suspended from duties while inquiries into the allegation continue."
