Royce's Community Hub Princess Avenue Oakham Rutland Oakham Town Councillor Joyce Lucas unofficially names and takes over council property
Cllr Joyce Lucas is a little impatient when it comes to her not getting what she
wants.
I think it is agreed the whole of Oakham might get a community hub and a
new location for the town council.
The council has agreed a move although this is often deliberately confused
by the few Councillor' who don't want the move or the community hub all led by our
Mayor Cllr Alf Dewis.
No date has been set for the move and there has been no confirmation that
the community hub will even happen.
Cllr Lucas like me is very keen to see a community hub.
Unlike Cllr Lucas, I see it is very important the hub is seen to be available to
all Oakham Residents. Cllr Lucas has without the consent of the
full council given it a local name which might imply it is a localised hub.
I do hope the council does not decide to sell or use it for another purpose
residents will be very disappointed with us.
Things need to be done properly, unfortunately this is another example
of how Cllr Lucas does not think any rules apply to her.
At this moment in time Oakham does not run any community hub.
From emails I received yesterday other town councillors are not
happy with a councillors unilateral actions.
