Today I was slightly puzzled to read on the Town Councils website that we had
decided to write a community led Neighbourhood Plan.
I am aware Oakham Town Council is rushing through public consultation and
will be making a decision at a December meeting, the council agreed that at
its last meeting.
No decision has been made by Oakham Town Council to write any plan.

I am wonder why the council news page says :
Oakham Town Council intends to write a community-led Neighbourhood Plan that will direct the future development of Oakham.
Although I am pleased to read this news can someone please explain when the decision is was made?
It was understanding we would be voting for this at a December meeting as approved at the last council meeting.
Once again this is evidence that too much council business is being decided outside meetings by a tiny few of the old
guard.
The Council intends to commence in earnest in New Year 2016 but in the meantime provide information for members of the community to understand better the process and to indicate whether they want to be involved.
How can the council intend to commence in earnest when we have not made this decision either.
