Rutland County Councillor Sam Asplin (Liberal Democrats) stands down as Ward Member for Whissendine with immediate effect.




























Sam has genuinely not been well for some time now, I wish him a speedy recovery.

Sam was first elected at October 2014  by election. He went on to thrash the Tories
at this year May Elections an rare victory for the Liberal Democrats this year.

He was also one of Rutland County Councils youngest ever councillors.


Rutland County Council has one remain Liberal Democrat


a by-election will take place in Whissendine if a request for an election is received from two registered voters. An election will then be held to fill the vacant seat within 35 days.

Jonny BAKER (Conservative) - 265 votes
