As in the past I published a resignation letter from Oakham Town Councillor
Mr Kennedy is not happy his letter has been made public.
He spoke to the Chairman Cllr Alf Dewis and told him he would publish all emails
received during his time as a Cllr.
The first sent to all accept me from Cllr Alf Dewis after I corresponded with
members about the dangerous Christmas lights installation. It shows in my opinion
a lack of concern for public safety. Public safety is not my fire, the standard of the
installation may well have caused one. I copy all members into my emails (cc) for
information not for a reaction.
The content of Alf's email is not news to me I have known for a long time he and other
members of the old guard tell all new members most of what is included in this sentence.
"I hope you agree that his action of copying in the paper to his emails only reinforces the theory that he is not on the Council for the good of the electorate but purely for himself and what he can feed into his blog."
To: Michael Haley, Jasmine Hopkins, vincehoward, lucas, stan, michaelelliott,
Dear Colleagues
Thank you all for standing back and not replying to, or even getting involved in, the email tennis regarding the Christmas Lights which Adam has handled admirably. There is a tendency for him to light the blue touch paper to get everyone involved and then he blogs it. In this instance his comments have resulted in little if any response from anyone apart from Adam who has been dealing with the contract and has an in-depth knowledge of the events. By not responding it dowses his fire, he runs out of steam and comes to a halt. I hope you agree that his action of copying in the paper to his emails only reinforces the theory that he is not on the Council for the good of the electorate but purely for himself and what he can feed into his blog.
Thanks again.
Regards
Alf

In Local Government we live in an open society where any written correspondence, including email, can be requested by members of the public and members of the Council. Only confidential items may be refused but unfortunately letters of resignation do not fall into that category.
