Oakham Town Council Summer Concerts
It's time for change
So often I hear comments about the summer band concerts organised by Oakham
Town Council, many times I have passed on those comments to the Town Council
and have been ignored or given crap.
Now those people can give the local police some crap for tweeting what everyone is
saying.
A working group was set up a couple of years ago but Cllrs Lowe or Lucas were
never willing to implement change, nothing can interfere with Wrinkle Rock says
Cllr Lowe. Wrinkle Rock is not a bad group but a lot of people are fed up with the
same thing each year. Wrinkle Rock put on the same show each year and always
mention the name of the former Mayor who first introduced them in 2006 - 2007
The group receives around 50 percent of the annual budget and another band run
by a band member receives another quarter of the budget.
That is the major reason the town council can not provide any variety and
not forgetting the promotions of Oakham Group cut their own budget last
year.

I will believe it when I see it.
I doubt if this will please the former Mayor.
