The Co-operative is to return to being the Co-op

The Co-op is to return to being the Co-op

At The Co-operative Group's 2016 AGM, it was announced that the Group would
go back to a revitalised version of the 1968 logo

The Co-op appear to have given up trying to modernise many Co-op groups
have tried to shake of the old tired Co-op image, examples were the Leo and
Rainbow Supermarkets all now defunct along with the Living Department stores

After spending millions on revamping and branding its store the co-operative is turning the
clock back, Although I doubt if it will have any effect on its high 2016 prices.

Personally I found the current Co-operative corporate image good.

As a person who was brought up on Co-op products and lived in a Co-op staff
house as young boy I find this change quite nostalgic. As a family we did desert in
the end to and started shopping at Sainsbury's. I think it must have been when
the Co-op stop being caring and sharing.

Shoppers here in Oakham may remember the 1980's
Co-op logo used by the defunct Midland Co-op

The Dividend is coming back probably not in stamp form
as a boy I used to find it quite fun sticking them in a book.
If it was a large shop it was always fun watching the strip
of stamps appear from the machine. slightly spoilt when
the introduced the larger stamp for large purchases.

In the 1950's this was how Co-op Tea was branded
