Harringworth History Event
Saturday, June 10th
Harringworth archivist and historian Sarah Chambers has organised this special two-day event with an extensive exhibition of the Harringworth Archive staged in the Village Hall.
In addition, with limited spaces, there will be a 'Walk and Talk' around Harringworth's fascinating hidden history; illustrating the lives of the villagers from Anglo-Saxon times, through the middle ages to the modern day.
The walk takes you through the dawn of early Christianity, the evolving trades such as weaving, milling and agriculture, with the impact on the landscape, to the Lords of the Manor, also stopping to discuss some interesting archaeological features along the way.
Walk and Talk
Tickets cost £8 and also include entry to the exhibition and refreshments. The Walk & Talk will last around 90 minutes and on Friday starts at 7pm and on Saturday 2pm.
Exhibition Opening Times
The exhibition in the village Hall will be open on Friday 9th June from 4pm-9.30pm and Saturday 10th June from 1.30pm-6pm. Entry £2.50 per person with children under 16 free.
Afternoon Tea
There will be the bonus of Afternoon Tea served in the Exhibition Cafe in the village hall on Saturday afternoon from 3pm-5.30pm with a delicious selection of cakes and scones.
