The town meeting was well attended and many members of the public expressed their disappointment with the town council.
The Mayor Cllr Michael Haley came under fire for his lack of chairman skills and the visible sign of his lack of interest.
Oakham Town Meeting 2018 Clerk Hides in Council Office
It is normal for the Clerk to take the minutes at the Town Meeting. This year the Clerk Allison Greaves chose not to face the public.
Her dishonest partner in crime Cllr Michael Haley had sort legal advice from NALC and he said they
advised no one could raise any issue relating to the town clerk. Because it was an internal council matter.
Cllr Michael Haley make up your mind please. One minute the clerk lying to Leicestershire Police about me is not a council matter and can not be discussed in a council meeting during an exempt item; and the next minute it is a council matter and can not be discussed in public.
The Clerk has lied about one of the management team and according to her contract of employment
that is gross misconduct.
Also the Clerk has lied to the Council, she gave the police exempt documents and claimed they came from my blog which is a blatant lie to save her from another charge of gross misconduct.
I have never been given or published exempt staffing committee minutes.
Personally I don't hate the Clerk, I hate the fact she has fallen foul of the game the old guard plays to seek my exclusion from the council.
Although I did not discuss the Clerk at the public meeting I had handed out a statement at the public meeting prior to Cllr Michael Haley sharing what he claimed was legal advice.
I was pleased the Chairman of the Rutland Conservatives Mrs Clifton spoke about the Clerks incompetence and her inability to do the job.
Cllr Haley mentioned the external and internal audits these reports have not been presented to council
so we have to take his dishonest word that everything was fine.
It is a fact he lied at this evenings meeting because he said the external auditor was happy with the governance and procedures of Oakham Town Council.
The last published report stated there was a significant failure of governance.
Hopefully this year we will get to see all parts of the annual return so the clerk does not repeat such a serious failing.
Oakham Town Meeting Neighbourhood Plan All Woman Have Given Up Due To Cllr Michael Haley
A female resident raised an issue, which I and others had long suspected at this evenings Town Meeting.
A lady said all the woman had left the Neighbourhood plan steering group because of Cllr Michael Haleys conduct.
Thousands of pounds has been wasted on the Neighbour Plan
No grants have been applied for.
As a Council member I don't have clue about what progress has been made Cllr Haley has failed to provide the council with adequate reports.
Cllr Haley has blocked all attempts for the council to appoint a second council representative onto the group, despite the terms of the working group requiring two.
Cllr Haley claims he does not run the show, unfortunately for the residents of Oakham who are paying for this plan, he does.
He was asked at the Town Meeting what his future plans were, I think the questioner was suggesting he should consider his position on the council. I fully support that. Our own female members have recently claimed he is sexist. This is 2018 not the 1970's the is no room in local government for sexism or bullying of the kind that Cllr Michael Haley is guilty of.
Cllr Michael has been in my opinion the worst chairman the town council has ever had and that is worse than Alf Dewis who resigned because he broke the law.

At the town meeting Cllr Michael Haley said I was lying, he also denied all that was put to him by
residents suggesting they are lying.
Cllr Haley will tell me I am lying even when I have video evidence. The sexists, bully should resign
from Oakham Town Council and take the dishonest clerk with him.
Thank goodness he said he is not consider being our chairman for the next year.
Good riddance to the most damaging chairman Oakham Town Council has ever experienced.
After the Town Meeting All Cllrs who had attended stopped to chat to the public.
Cllr Michael Haley and the deputy chairman Peter Ind moved into the council chamber and locked us all out.
