The Great Rempstone Steam and Country Show has been running for more than 60 years, presented by a team of dedicated volunteers whose aim is to raise money for local and national charities, with nearly £200,000 donated in recent years.
The Show, located in the heart of the beautiful and unspoiled Wolds countryside provides a perfect day out for the enthusiast and for the whole family alike. You can meet the amazing ‘Gorillas’, drive a Monster Steam Engine, see the great Sheep Show, learn circus skills, take part in a ‘big prize’ treasure hunt, watch the fast and furious Scurry carriages in the Main Arena and see the BBMF Dakota fly-past on Saturday.
A Steam and Country Show would not be complete without the magic and nostalgia of a bygone age. The Great Rempstone Steam and Country Show will certainly take you back in time to experience those sights, sounds and smells of yesteryear. There will be more than 40 magnificent steam engines in full steam around the showground, Showman’s engines with their gleaming brass and paintwork and ornate fairground organs, heavy haulage, road making demos and a steam working area. Alongside these gentle giants will be vintage and classic vehicles among more than 600 exhibits.
Families can enjoy a ride on the old time fairground, visit the Wildlife, Conservation and live Reptile area, take part in the Companion Dog Show on Sunday, enjoy a little retail therapy amongst the numerous market and craft stalls, relax in the Real Ale bar or simply sit at the side of the Main Arena and watch the full programme of events. THIS ALL TAKES PLACE AT TURNPOST FARM, WYMESWOLD AS USUAL, BUT IN AN EXCITING AND IMPROVED LAYOUT AGAIN THIS YEAR.
Show organisers say ‘ the Show is now in its 62nd Anniversary year and has grown to be one of the largest of its kind in the East Midlands as well as the oldest continually running show of its type in the country, it’s great when we see so many people enjoying themselves and at the same time raise thousands of pounds for local and national charities’ And don’t forget ‘KIDS GO FREE!
