Michael Haley, Alf Dewis And Stan Stubbs Resign From Oakham Town Partnership
Great news for Oakham.
Michael Haley Former Oakham Mayor who resigned from the Town Council after a female resident spoke out against him at last years town meeting, she alleged he was responsible for all the woman leaving the Oakham and Barleythorpe Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group. The Town Council
removed him from the group at the review at the AGM he then promptly resigned. Since leaving the council he has filled his time it is alleged upsetting the farmers market traders and making conduct complaints to Rutland County Council every time I mention him by name on this blog. He also wrote
to me a rant threatening to write to my employer??
The vile horrible little man has written me a number of ranting emails mostly in the style of telling
me to go and jump under a bus.
Alf Dewis another Mayor who resigned from Oakham Town Council after Grant Thornton's external auditor had found he had unlawfully spent public money. He repaid the money.
The current Mayor and Rutland County Councillor Adam Lowe at the time support Alf Dewis and said in the press it was just a little mistake and the council will miss him.
Stan Stubbs a Councillor for a short time who came from another part of the country and had a conduct history linked to spending public money when he should not have apparently spending
money supporting a fellow Conservatives election campaign. It would be fair to say his time on Oakham Town Council was not so bad, I did have a conduct complaint against him upheld due to his offensive manner in meetings, he also like Michael Haley had a old fashioned way in referring to woman.
No reason for the resignation has yet been given.
Personally I think they now realise they have destroyed the Town Partnership and are aware of the very poor reputation the partnership has.
Or it might have something to do with the HMRC tax evasion investigation?
